Gareth Davies gives us an insight into his day-to-day role.
How long have you worked at Aspect and what’s involved with your day-to-day role?
I have been with Aspect Scientific for seven months, during this time I have been accompanying some of our most experienced field service technicians and learning from their valuable experience on various diagnostic equipment.
After manufacturer training and support from my colleagues I have been able to join in the efforts providing preventative maintenance to our customers like the NHS and many other healthcare organisations, along with the food industry.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The most enjoyment within my role is seeing how we make a difference to peoples lives and that after finishing a high standard of maintenance and customer care, you can see the confidence and satisfaction that gives the customer, with the assurance and trust they have in the equipment that helps them make critical decisions daily.
Feeling always supported by a dedicated and highly experienced team around me, from our office support teams, management and fellow technicians, I have everything I need to maintain the high level of standards we expect from ourselves.
What do you find most challenging?
The pandemic has complicated many things for our customers, doing their best to keep their work environment Covid secure, this has unfortunately created delays in gaining access to sites and carrying out our vital work.
However, seeing our customers collective efforts and teamwork whilst struggling with their critical roles within the recovery of the pandemic makes the extra efforts put on myself seem very minimal.
Do you feel the company’s services/products and your role have a positive impact on healthcare, why and how does this make you feel?
Knowing that the machines we provide and maintain are supporting key public services within our NHS, diagnostic laboratories, food industry and veterinary services are making a difference to so many, daily.
I feel proud knowing we are helping to keep our population safe, allowing our various professionals to make quick and decisive analysis to help them take the right course of actions to improve people’s lives.
It gives me great satisfaction knowing my efforts collectively with our fantastic professionals are making a difference to so many.
