Aspect Scientific was first incorporated in December 2014 and we officially started providing technical support services under our own name on 1st July 2015. Back then we were a team of four and were supporting approximately 80 analysers within NHS pathology laboratories; now 5 years later we are a team of 20 and are involved in the service and support of over 1000 diagnostic analysers and instrumentation across the UK and Ireland.

Over these years we have been privileged to work on behalf of many leading medical diagnostic instrumentation manufacturers and distributors to provide customer technical support and service. Many of the businesses we work with started to use our services for a single product and then expanded this to include other products, including new technologies and key products newly launched in the UK. It has been fantastic to see how the technical support services we provide have impacted and benefited our customers’ businesses in such positive ways and how end user support improves as a result.
We have expanded our presence across the UK and into Ireland and now support instrumentation in other diagnostic areas in addition to NHS pathology labs, such as toxicology, private laboratories, food industry microbiology, veterinary, university and research laboratories. In addition to expanding the field based engineering team we have also expanded at the office and now work across two buildings at the same site, which provides us with a new Service Centre, parts storage and training room space.
The core business is technical support and service, specialising purely in diagnostic instrumentation and laboratory automation systems. We have also developed a sales side to the business drawing on the extensive technical experience we already had, specialising in ELISA automation systems. This has developed the business into the leading supplier of open platform, multi-application ELISA automation systems in the UK. More recently we have been able to support the growing need for COVID-19 antibody testing capabilities, by quickly providing equipment in many labs across the UK and Ireland and working with reagent companies to automate their new tests. During this challenging time, our Engineers have been very busy installing both ELISA and PCR systems to boost lab capacity for high volume testing.
From the very early days Aspect Scientific has been a very forward thinking business focused on providing high quality services and supporting our fantastic health care system.
We have many plans for the future and are continuing to grow and expand on the services we provide, we look forward to the next 5 years!
